Be a part of the coolest event of the season in 2018! Plunge, spectate, donate or volunteer - you'll make an everlasting memory this winter season.
Don’t miss out!
Don’t miss the coolest event of the season. Each year, the Polar Plunge challenges thousands of brave jumpers at numerous locations around the state. Come out and take the plunge or partake in a host of activities for all ages, including food and drink vendors, live music, Freezin’ For a Reason 5k, raffles, and much more!
Plunging makes a difference
Since 1999, plungers and their supporters have raised over $20 million for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes. Donations support the 18 different Olympic-type sports offered year-round, including National and World Games, as well as free health care screenings to ensure optimal health and performance during competition. The outcome? The opportunity for over 10,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities to experience joy, pride and respect. Pretty amazing, huh?
How you can get involved
The Polar Plunge is for everyone. It really is. From young to not so young, solos to teams, principals to employees, and plungers to non-plungers. The world unites during Plunge season. You can plunge solo, on a team with your best friends, on a team with your favorite co-workers, as a school group, as a church choir, or really… however you want. We just want you in the water! The whole day is jam-packed with fun and festivities, and there’s certainly a way for everyone to be involved!
Without the support of Law Enforcement, there would be no Polar Plunge!
Plunges are a part of the year-round fundraising program called the Law Enforcement Torch Run, through which law enforcement personnel across the state raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
These dedicated men and women are the energy and effort behind many of our events and programs. Be sure to give them a big ol’ Plunge THANK YOU when you see them at our events. We couldn’t do it without them!
