Although things will look a little different this year, we're confident you'll have a blast with our social distancing-friendly adventure options in 2021!
Don’t miss out!
Don’t miss the coolest event of the 2021 winter season! While the traditional Polar Plunge we all know and love won’t be taking place due to COVID-19, there will still be plenty of ways to have a blast while supporting the 9,000+ athletes of Special Olympics Wisconsin!
How you can get involved
The 2021 version of the Polar Plunge is for everyone. It really is. From young to not so young, solos to teams, principals to employees, and plungers to non-plungers. Typically, the generous folks of Wisconsin unite during Plunge season. This year will be no different. You can head into The Great Outdoors in support of Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes by “plunging” down a sledding hill at top speed, or you can Chill at Home with a DIY at-home Plunge and a Chillin’ at Home kit full of goodies to warm your heart during the chilly winter.
However you want to participate, there’s something for you. Your Adventure. Your Way.
Plunging makes a HUGE difference
Since 1999, plungers and their supporters have raised over $20 million for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes. Donations support the 19 different Olympic-type sports offered year-round, including National and World Games, as well as free health care screenings to ensure optimal health and performance during competition. The outcome? The opportunity for more than 9,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities to experience joy, pride and respect. Pretty amazing, huh?
Without the support of Law Enforcement, there would be no Polar Plunge!
The Polar Plunge is a part of the year-round fundraising program called the Law Enforcement Torch Run, through which law enforcement personnel across the state raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
These dedicated men and women are the energy and effort behind many of our events and programs. Be sure to give them a big ol’ Plunge THANK YOU when you see them at our events. We couldn’t do it without them!
