Daina Shilts, Special Olympics Wisconsin athlete, here. I’m excited to share with you that the 2018 Polar Plunge registration is NOW OPEN. I’m also excited to share that I’ll be serving as your 2018 Polar Plunge Ambassador. As some of you might know, I am a four-time gold medalist in snowboarding at the Special Olympics World Winter Games and a three-time medalist in Unified snowboarding at the X Games. So it’s safe to assume that I absolutely love the winter!
My love of winter is just one of the many reasons I love the Polar Plunge and why Special Olympics Wisconsin asked me to be the Polar Plunge Ambassador. It’s such a fun and rewarding event. My goal is to take the plunge at every location so I hope to see you there!

I cannot express how much this organization has changed my life, and has made it nothing short of amazing. That’s why I’m counting on you to take the Polar Plunge at one of the 12 locations across Wisconsin starting in February next year!
And the first 500 to register and raise at least $50 by December 1st will receive a red Polar Plunge stocking cap representing the Special Olympics 50th anniversary, taking place in 2018.
Since 1968, Special Olympics has been changing attitudes about the talents of people with intellectual disabilities and promoting a truly inclusive society.
